What is an e-invoice in Malaysia?
An e-invoice is a digital document representing a transaction between a seller and a buyer, which is submitted to a government portal for real-time validation and recordkeeping.
In Malaysia, an e-invoice comprises 55 fields capturing various details such as information about the seller and buyer, item descriptions, quantities, prices, taxes, total amounts, and payment details. Once validated and processed through the MyInvois Portal, these e-invoices receive a Unique Identification Number (UIN) and a QR Code, facilitating online verification of the invoice.
